Finding a provider that is right for you

Finding a provider that meets your needs can be difficult. Here are some questions to ask when contacting a new mental health provider:

  • How long is your waiting list?

  • Do I need to get primary care services from your organization to get mental or behavioral health services?

  • Are mental health appointments in person or held virtually?

  • What does your fee or sliding scale look like for someone like me?

    • Do you accept my insurance?

    • Do you accept individuals that don’t have insurance?

  • What are your specialties? Do you tend to work with a specific population? Specific mental health diagnosis? Do you work with people like me?
